Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Crosses One Crore Mark Record: Dr Jitendra

NEW DELHI, November 26: Digital Life Certificate (DLC), introduced to provide convenience to retirees and senior citizens, has broken a record One crore mark in the ongoing “DLC 3.0” campaign
Announcing this here today, Union Minister Personnel-in-Charge/DoPT/DARPG Dr. Jitendra Singh said that this landmark will go a long way in providing ease of living for senior citizens and will meet Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s vision as expressed by him. The last episode of “Mann Ki Baat” last Sunday.
Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi had said in episode 116 of Mann Ki Baat dated 24.11.2024: “Now things have become very simple by enabling Digital Life Certificate; Elderly people do not need to go to the bank. Elderly people do not face any problems due to technology. To ensure that the elderly are curious about technology. Today, with such efforts, the number of people receiving Digital Life certification has crossed the 80 lakh mark. Among them, more than 2 lakh are elderly people whose age has even exceeded 80 years.”
Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, said: “Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Digital Empowerment of Pensioners is being achieved through the successful implementation of DLC Campaign 3.0. All key stakeholders – Pension paying banks, Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare, Controller General of Defense Accounts, Ministry of Railways, Department of Telecom, Department of Posts, IPPB, UIDAI and Pensioners Welfare Associations, Vision for Digital Empowerment of Pensioners”
Dr Jitendra Singh had launched the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0 for Digital Empowerment of Pensioners from the National Media Center in New Delhi. DLC Campaign 3.0 is running in 800 cities/towns of India between 1-30 November 2024. Between 1-25 November 2024, 1984 camps were organized in 800 cities/districts and 1.8 lac postmen were deployed across the country.
100 lac DLCs created till 26.11.2024, 30,34,218 DLCs i.e. more than 30% of DLCs were created through Face Authentication. There is a 202x increase in DLCs delivered via Face Authentication as part of DLC Campaign 3.0. Within the scope of the campaign, 5 Mega camps were organized with the participation of all stakeholders: 3 in Delhi, 1 in Bengaluru and 1 in Hyderabad.
Retirees in the Camps and Retirement Social Assistance Associations stated that the development of Digital Life Certificates is a big step that will make the lives of retirees, especially the elderly, disabled and hospitalized, easier.
Dr Jitendra Singh said this achievement is a testament to the Government of India’s unwavering commitment to use digital tools for the benefit of every retiree.
