Ayden teen charged with Greenville murder

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – An Ayden teenager is charged with a murder that occurred in Greenville Friday night.

Armoni Whitfield was arrested overnight on murder charges.

Police said they found 28-year-old Jhari Henderson unresponsive in a car at the Walmart on Greenville Boulevard around 10 p.m. Friday.

In the first response, it was determined that the man was shot and died at the scene.

Police said they identified the 18-year-old woman as a suspect and she was arrested in Ayden overnight.

They believe the murder was targeted, but police have yet to say anything about the motive for the murder.

He is in the Pitt County jail without bond.
