Murray told Movieguide® that, in fact, the on-screen friendships between the characters mirror the real-life relationships between the actors.

“They don’t make a lot of movies that focus on family as much as relationships, so focusing on the family part…I think that’s very special.”

There are also allusions to Alcott’s work sprinkled throughout the story, rewarding fans who keep their eyes peeled. The film also stays true to the Christian content of the book. It also teaches powerful messages about the importance of family and contains strong Biblical allusions. One character weaves a web of lies, but LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS is otherwise free of questionable content.
