47-year-old Birmingham man died after his vehicle went off the road

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.(WBRC) – Birmingham Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead on Monday.

According to authorities, officers responded to the fatal crash at Wenonah-Oxmoor Road and Shannon Road just before 6:30 a.m.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 47-year-old Sunil Khan of Birmingham.

The car reportedly left the road near a bridge and came to rest at the bottom of a steep embankment near a pair of train tracks.

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
