Third person arrested in Nanaimo woman’s overdose death

Tyler Stephen Elrix, wanted on murder charges in connection with the 2023 death of Wendy Head, was arrested in Chemainus

A man wanted on first-degree murder charges in connection with the 2023 overdose death of a 52-year-old Nanaimo woman has been arrested.

Tyler Stephen Elrix, 41, was arrested by members of the RCMP Rapid Response Team in Chemainus over the weekend.

Elrix is one of three men charged in the death of Wendy Head, who died March 7, 2023, at her home in the 2300 block of Autumnwood Drive in Nanaimo.

The province’s integrated anti-gang agency launched a joint investigation with Nanaimo and North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP after information emerged that led investigators to treat Head’s fatal overdose as a homicide.

The joint investigation led to charges against three people from Duncan.

While Kehar Gary Sangha and Lily Irene Lindbergh were previously arrested, Elrix was released until the end of this week.
