Hush massacre suspect now charged with killing 5 people in Birmingham mass shooting and robbery

The man accused of killing four people outside a hookah lounge in Five Points South in September and two more in the days before and after is now accused of killing four people in another mass shooting in Birmingham in July and another man during a burglary in August. .

Damien McDaniel III, 22, of Fairfield, is accused of killing 11 people and wounding 29 others between July and September.

He was accused of killing four people and wounding nine others on July 13 in a drive-by shooting at an adult birthday party in Birmingham on November 22.

Birmingham police identified the slain victims as Angela Weatherspoon, 56, of Center Point, Markeisha Gettings, 42, of Birmingham, Stevie McGhee, 39, of Birmingham, and Lerandus Anderson, 24, of Center Point.

McDaniel is charged with 10 counts of first-degree assault in the July 13 shooting that occurred during a birthday party at a nightclub.

McDaniel is now also charged with capital murder during a robbery. On August 13, 61-year-old Charlie Moore was shot and killed.

McDaniel had already been jailed in the Sept. 21 deaths. Carlos McCain, 27, Roderick Lynn Patterson Jr., 26, Anitra Holloman, 21 and Tahj Booker27. These four people were killed and 17 others were injured in the shooting in Five Points South.

McDaniel is also charged with murder in connection with the Sept. 19 slaying. Diontrante Tinae BrownA 35-year-old mother, who police say was an innocent bystander, was shot to death at the 604 Bar and Lounge on North Ninth Street.

McDaniel faces another capital murder charge after he was shot in robbery 32 year old Jamarcus McIntyreHe was killed by gunfire in the 700 block of 81st Place South, less than 24 hours after the shooting in Five Points South.
