New developments took place after the bail hearing of the Catholic priest

WACO, Texas (KXXV) — On November 26, 2024, a bail hearing took place for a Catholic Priest who is currently in prison on three grand jury indictments for sexual assault and one pending potential indictment for possession of child pornography.

During the trial, prosecutors presented DNA evidence confirming that Anthony Odiong was the biological father of the child of one of his known victims.

Bond was set at $5.5 million before this hearing. After the hearing, the bond reduction request was denied and the bond amount will remain at $5.5 million.

In March this year, an investigation was launched into Odiong following a credible report of a possible sexual assault in 2012. This investigation has since identified nine survivors.

Odiong’s father was reported to be the children of more victims; Two identifications of the cubs have been made, more cubs have yet to be identified.

An investigation into possible financial crimes has also been launched.

Odiong is currently in the McLennan County Jail where he was extradited from Ave Maria, Florida for his arrest on July 16, 2024. This investigation is ongoing.

Waco police are still searching for survivors of Anthony Odiong’s abuse.
