18-year-old Jalaj Dhir was out for a walk with three friends when the accident happened.

filmmaker Ashwni Dhir‘s son Jalaj Dhir died in a car accident in Mumbai. according to Free Press Magazine reportThe incident took place on the Western Express Highway in Vile Parle in the early hours of November 23 morning.

What happened to Jalaj and his friends?

Jalaj, 18, went for a stroll along with his three friends Sahil Mendha (18), Sarth Kaushik (18) and Jedan Jimmy (18). Allegedly, Sahil, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle near Sahara Star Hotel because he was drunk. He crashed his vehicle into the barrier.

Sahil and Jedan survived the accident with minor injuries. Jalaj and Sarth, who were sitting in the backseat, were seriously injured. They died after being taken to hospital. Initially, Jalaj was taken to Jogeshwari East and later transferred to Kokilaben Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

How did the accident happen?

The FPJ report quoted Jimmy as saying Sahil had been drinking alcohol at a friend’s house and returned to Jalaj’s house at 11pm on November 22. At around 3:30 in the morning of November 23, they decided to take a drive. Sahil replaced him first and they reached Bandra around 4.10 am.

According to Jimmy, Sahil was driving at 120-150 km per hour on the return journey. Following Jedan’s complaint, Mumbai Police arrested Sahil. Blood samples have now been sent for tests.
