(Nationwide) Namwon city official who refused to take a breathalyzer test…3 months suspension

A controversial public servant who was promoted to fifth-class civil servant even after being arrested for refusing to take a breathalyzer test has been severely punished.

Jeonbuk Province recently held a personnel committee and announced that it decided to suspend Namwon City’s sixth grade A officer for three months.

Officer A was sleeping in a car on the shoulder of the Gwangju-Daegu Expressway in the early morning hours of May 31 when he was charged without arrest and fined 15 million won on charges of refusing a police sobriety test three times.

Officer A claimed in court that the police had made an illegal arrest, but he was eventually convicted, and both the prosecution and officer A appealed the decision of the first trial.
