Six men from New Delhi carried out a robbery at gunpoint on November 12 to collect money for a hill station trip. This strange crime stemmed from his disappointments in life after his recent release from prison. The group targeted a local grocery store owner named Mukesh and stole Rs 50,000 from him while he was riding a scooter on his way back home. According to the PTI report, the mastermind of the robbery has been identified as Mohammed Aftab, who was recently released from prison.

Tired of Delhi’s climate and generally uneventful life, he planned a calm and quiet stay in the hills. But he didn’t have enough money to go there. Therefore, Aftab suggested attacking local shopkeepers in order to finance the money needed for the journey. This gang was able to set its sights on Mukesh through people in the market.

It was reported that on the evening of November 12, three members of the gang caught Mukesh outside the DDA offices in Bindapur. They pointed the village-made gun at him and demanded money. The robbery happened quickly, with Mukesh reporting he was robbed around 7:25 p.m. Later, upon receiving a report about the robbery, the police came to the scene. After receiving information from Mukesh, the teams started examining the footage of more than 500 CCTV cameras to identify the criminals.

Police received a tip about the suspects’ whereabouts on November 17. A trap was laid in Block E in Bindapur and three persons were arrested: Mohammad Sazid (23), Mohammad Shoeb (19) and Mohammad Rashid (19). 22). During interrogation, they confessed to the robbery and revealed the involvement of three more accomplices: Mohammad Ayan (19), Mohammad Aftab (22) and Mohammad Altab (24).

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh told PTI: “All the accused were making history and were struggling financially. The duo, who was recently released from jail after serving sentences for various crimes, planned to experience snowfall at a hill station. But they ran out of money.” “Because they were inadequate, they decided to commit robbery.”

The police later recovered Rs 35,200 of the stolen money, the motorcycle used in carrying out the act and the gun used in the process. All six men were described as “history writers” with records of past criminal activity. Their future robberies were foiled because they were caught correctly.
