Muskego woman punches toddler; He was sentenced to 2 years in prison

A. Muskego A woman who got drunk and punched a toddler in front of a police officer pleaded guilty to two of three charges on Tuesday, November 26, prosecutors said.

The defendant Alyanya Felts admitted that physical abuse of the child (intentionally causing bodily harm) and neglecting the child would amount to bodily harm. A misdemeanor bail jumping charge was dismissed.

A Waukesha County judge later sentenced Felts on Tuesday to two years in prison and an additional three years of extended supervision in this case.

According to the criminal complaint; New Berlin Police were patrolling S. Racine Boulevard on the evening of Wednesday, March 6, 2024, when an officer noticed a car in the Racine Boulevard park and pulled out. The officer noted that no one was in the front seats of the car, but “observed a small child sticking his head out of the rear passenger window,” the complaint said.

The officer remained in the area and watched as the car parked and continued. The complaint states that the officer once again stated that “this young child (later determined to be 18 months old) was in the back without a seatbelt, partially hanging out of the window.”

New Berlin Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. When the police officer asked the male driver why he went through the red light, the driver was trying to take him home by saying “because the female passenger in the backseat, Alyanya Keçe, was drunk.”

The officer noted that the defendant had “bloodshot and glassy eyes, extremely slurred speech, and was unable to sit upright,” the complaint states. The complaint also states that Felt was unable to state his birthday or form complete sentences. At this point the officer felt it was necessary to call Health and Human Services.
