Moving to “more economical locations”
This Wednesday morning, the Group management announced: “It is planned to stop production at the Berndorf site (Austria) in the Bearings and Industrial Solutions division.” The sharp increase in material, energy and personnel costs in recent years could not be compensated by additional price adjustments made to customers. “In the future, products will be produced in more economical locations in the production network in Europe, China and Asia,” Schaeffler said.
