Mother and her 2 children died in accident in Bulacan

ANGAT, Bulacan — A family of three lost their lives in a traffic accident that occurred in Sitio Tugatog, Barangay Marungko, on Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as Angielyn Herrera, her sons Andrie (6) and Sky (2), while the only survivor, father John Jovy Herrera, was seriously injured. The family is from Barangay Binagbag, Angat, Bulacan.

According to the initial police report, Howo Truck with plate number NBB7921 and a Mitsubishi L300 minivan with plate number PIE 431 were passing through the steep road of Sitio Tugatog along General Santos Highway when the truck driver, John Arn de Castro, 26, single, Barangay Sapang Putik, San Ildefonso , Bulacan resident lost control.

The truck crashed into the minibus carrying the family of four.

The victims were taken to Norzagaray General Hospital by the Angat Rescue team, but all were pronounced dead on arrival while the father’s treatment continued.

The driver is currently in the custody of Angat MPS and charges will be registered against him on three counts of murder, reckless imprudence resulting in serious bodily injury and damage to property.
