I-57 reopens after Illinois State Police investigate shootings near Halsted Street

CHICAGO (Wales) — Illinois State Police are investigating a pair of shootings that occurred Thursday morning on I-57 on the South Side.

Police said the first attack occurred around 1:30 a.m. between Halsted Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway.

About a half-hour later, police said a rollover crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-57 approaching Halsted, which police said was the result of a second shooting.

Police announced that no one was injured in the clashes.

Police closed the northbound lanes of I-57 at 111th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway. They reopened around 5 a.m.
