Ella Morris moves to Spurs and is inspired by Jess Naz

Tottenham defender Ella Morris says “what she was sold is exactly what she got” following her move to north London this summer.

Morris, 22, signed a three-year deal with Spurs after leaving Southampton to further his career.

He is currently part of England’s under-23 squad, preparing for matches against Norway and Sweden.

“It was absolutely incredible. I don’t regret it for a second. I’m getting exactly what was sold to me,” Morris said.

“Alongside players like Bethany England, Drew Spence, I can rank among the truly high-performing international players who have been in this game for a long time.

“It’s exciting for me to learn from them and see how they deal with certain situations. It really helps me improve; not only as a player, but also as a person.”

Morris hopes to follow in the footsteps of teammate Jess Naz, who has progressed from England’s youth teams to the senior team under coach Sarina Wiegman.

“We talked about how he found it. It was really inspiring to be around someone every day in training and see the standards he has,” Morris said.

“When he comes back from England he’s very smart because he’s been in that high-performance environment. It was really nice to see him do that.”

“If I get the chance to do this, then I have someone I can talk to who understands the experience. Being around Jess every day was such a great experience.”
