50 packets of white powder seized after men were found ‘behaving suspiciously’

Two people who the police determined were “acting suspiciously” were detained. Officers from EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley were on patrol in plain clothes when they spotted men in a car in Lyme Grove. huytonAround 20.30 on Friday, November 22.

Officers spoke to the men and searched the car, where they found a bag containing approximately 50 packets of white powder suspected to be cocaine. A 33-year-old man from Huyton and a 37-year-old man from Huyton Pre-Scots The individuals, who were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs for the purpose of supplying them, were taken to Merseyside police station for questioning.

Both were later released pending further investigation as investigations continued. Local Police Inspector Jennifer Murray said: “Our officers are determined to remove drugs and those prepared to engage in drug-related activities from our streets.

“We know that drugs go hand in hand with organized crime and that this brings fear and misery to our communities. Our EVOLVE operations are determined to shut down organized crime groups in these areas and make them safer for those who live there.

“I therefore urge the public to report any drug-related activity or other crime linked to organized crime groups to us so we can take action to protect vulnerable people and bring criminals to justice, to make our communities safer for everyone.”

Huyton falls within the parameters of EVOLVE Liverpool-Knowsley, one of the Force’s Clean Up, Hold, Build areas, focusing on shutting down organized crime groups operating in these areas and working with partners to make these communities safer for future generations.
