Regina robbery leads to 2 arrests

Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning.

According to a statement from the Regina Police Service (RPS), officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Garnet Avenue for a report of a robbery in progress around 4 a.m.

According to police, a man and a woman threatened someone with a gun, stole a bicycle and then took the victim’s belongings and left.

Officers located the suspects a short time later in the 900 block of Montague Street and arrested them. Police said that a collapsible baton was found during the search of the suspects.

A 34-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both from Regina, have been charged with robbery.

The man was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, while the woman was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

The pair made their first appearance in District Court on Tuesday afternoon.
