Driver arrested in fatal hit-and-run in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – The driver wanted for a fatal crash in Shelby on Tuesday was arrested a few hours later in Mansfield.

Kaleb Fisher, 24, of Shelby, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said.

Troopers said they also seized Fisher’s Ford Edge.

Fisher is locked up in the Richland County Jail.

Troopers say 61-year-old Barbara Warner of Shelby was shot and killed while walking on Mickey Road near Martin Drive around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Warner died from his injuries at Ohio Health Shelby Hospital.

Shelby police, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Troopers added that they received “multiple” tips from the public.
