Woman allegedly punched Santa Claus for blocking his view at Christmas parade

(TMX) – A woman is facing charges after she allegedly punched a Santa Claus who was blocking her view at a Christmas parade in Ontario on Saturday, police said.

St. Thomas Police Department said the dispute took place in St. Louis, about 185 miles northeast of Detroit. He said it happened in the audience at the 38th annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday evening in St. Thomas.

A 62-year-old woman, whose name was not released by police, allegedly got into an argument with a fellow spectator dressed as Santa Claus after allegedly blocking her family from seeing the parade.

“The suspect struck the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground,” police said.

The woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters before being released with a future court date.

St. The theme of this year’s parade, sponsored by the Thomas Optimist Club, was “Christmas at the Circus.”
