Winnipeg police: Arrest made in bus stop stabbing incident

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has arrested two men following a stabbing at a bus stop Tuesday night.

The investigation began around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when officers were called to a stabbing at Portage Boulevard and Tylehurst Street.

Police teams arriving at the scene found a 19-year-old man injured in his upper body. Police provided emergency treatment to the victim before he was taken to hospital in a non-stable condition. It has since been updated to stable condition.

Police searched the area and found two suspects hiding under a structure in the 1500 block of Wolseley Avenue West.

The team investigating serious crimes determined that the victim and two suspects fought at a bus stop, resulting in a stabbing. The victim and the two defendants did not know each other.

A 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman are facing charges in connection with the incident. They are in custody and the charges have not been proven in court.
