Complaint against Sellner

According to court documents, on Nov. 18, a woman spoke to law enforcement at Essentia Health Urgent Care in Baxter. She told officers she sought care after being sexually assaulted on November 6.

He told officers he went to Sellner’s home in the 1600 block of Oak Street and talked to him because he had problems and needed to talk to someone. She said she and Sellner were in a sexual relationship.

When they arrived at the residence, she said Sellner had been drinking and they eventually went to Sellner’s bedroom where Sellner began kissing her, which then led to sexual intercourse.

At one point Sellner wanted to do more and she told him no. He told the cops he did it anyway.

She said she repeatedly told Sellner to stop, but he subdued her. While he was trying to leave his house, he told the police that he stood in front of the door and did not let him go.

He said Sellner was wearing pants with multiple pockets at the time of the attack, and when he touched the outside of the pants he could see what appeared to be a sketch of a firearm and said he had a gun and ammunition in his pants.

Sellner also told her there were guns in every room and mentioned some sort of secret door or secret access under the bed in the bedroom. He said he wasn’t sure if Sellner was bragging about his firearms or saying it to intimidate and intimidate her.

She told officers he forced her to have sexual intercourse three or four times over a two-and-a-half hour period. He couldn’t leave his house until the next day.

Sellner was detained during a traffic stop on November 21. Sellner gave a statement to investigators denying any sexual intercourse and said he did not have any firearms in his possession.

Court documents state Sellner was previously convicted of aggravated domestic assault by strangulation in 2023 in Cass County. He was sentenced to three years probation and fined $585.

According to court records in that case, on March 31, 2023, the fourth grader told her counselors and principal that her mother had been assaulted by Sellner the night before.

The mother told law enforcement that Sellner came to her apartment and they began arguing. Sellner was accused of grabbing her by the neck and slamming her into the window.
