Phoenix (KPHO/Gray News) – An Arizona child is fighting for his life after a statue apparently fell on him at a luxury resort in Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

Phoenix firefighters said they were called to the Arizona Biltmore resort around 9 a.m. for a report of an injured child.

Fire Capt. Todd Keller confirmed an 8-year-old boy was hit with a concrete object.

In the video taken from the scene, a statue can be seen falling to the ground.

First responders took the child, who was in critical condition, to area hospitals. It is unclear whether a parent or guardian was watching him during the incident.

Aerial footage showed crime scene tape around part of the hotel and debris was scattered across the resort grounds.
