Man stabbed in Mecca was taken to hospital

A person was hospitalized with stab wounds in Mecca on Thursday morning.

The incident was first reported around 7:49 a.m. in the 91000 block of 6th Avenue.

According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located a subject with injuries consistent with a stab wound.

The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests were made. Authorities stated that the investigation continues.
