Police are asking for the public’s help investigating a fatal stabbing in Ventura Thursday morning

VENTURA, Calif. – A 24-year-old man died after being stabbed in the 300 block of East Main Street, and police are asking for the public’s help in solving the crime.

At around 1:49 a.m. on Nov. 28, first responders were dispatched to a reported large fight in the 300 block of East Main Street, and a caller shared in a Ventura Police Department press release that one person was stabbed during the incident. Thursday.

Upon seeing the fight end, the crowd leaving the area, and a 24-year-old man lying on the ground with a serious stab wound, officers notified the Ventura Police Department.

The Ventura Police Department said paramedics attempted life-saving measures on the injured man, but he was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity has not been made public.

According to Ventura Police, multiple witnesses at the scene were uncooperative with the investigation and refused to provide information.

Now, the investigation has been turned over to the Department’s Major Crimes Unit and anyone with information is asked to contact Ventura Police at 805-650-8010.
