Woman arrested after argument turned into shooting in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – A woman was arrested following an argument that turned into a shooting in New Haven Wednesday afternoon.

Police said units responded to the area of Plymouth Avenue around 2:27 p.m. for a report of a person shot.

Police teams arriving at the scene found that a 38-year-old woman was injured by a bullet in her abdomen. A man living in the house where the incident occurred was also found.

It was determined that a physical struggle took place after an argument between the victim and the man. A gun was seized at the scene.

The suspect, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken into custody after being treated at the hospital.

He was booked on several charges, including violating a protective order. He may also face more charges.
