Women’s Empowerment Summit on November 30

Carla Zuill, founder of WES, which organized the first event in 2016, says that the ladies attending the 9th annual Women’s Empowerment Summit had “a day full of togetherness, sharing and various emotions.”

It starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 30 at Ocean View Golf Course.

“When I created the summit, it was originally planned to be a one-off. A few months after it was made, I received a call asking for the date of the second one. It wasn’t my intention to hold on any longer, but then I reconsidered and never looked back. Even during Covid, I haven’t missed a beat. I held the event online in 2020 and 2021 and hundreds of women attended. “I am proud to say that the Women’s Empowerment Summit has reached its ninth year in 2024,” she said.

The event, this year’s theme is The Uprising, will open with a fashion show by personal stylist Nicole Grant, followed by presentations from founder of women’s empowerment brand I am Enough Bermuda, Angel Burgess, anti-violence advocate Nicole Fox and filmmaker. philanthropist Caroline Desmarais.

“A panel discussion on the Effects of Violence on Women will be held in Bermuda in the afternoon. The panel will include Anti-Abuse Center Director Laurie Shiell, parents Dawn Trott and Gloria Daniels, clinical counselor Dayla Burgess, and attorney Gina Spence-Virgil.

“We will also recognize our annual Woman of the Year award (she had no idea she was going to win it!),” a spokesperson said.

The event is hosted by Ms. Zuill.

“The Women’s Empowerment Summit is a safe space for women to come together; share their successes, challenges they face, and offer tools to improve their daily lives. “We welcome women from all walks of life,” she adds.
