BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana defeated rival Purdue 66-0 on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

THREE REASONS IU WON

1. DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE: Indiana held Purdue to just 67 yards, just one more yard than IU’s score. The Boilers had only five first downs and only 13 yards rushing the entire game. The Hoosiers had two interceptions and three turnovers, resulting in a 5-0 turnover margin. As a team, IU had nine tackles for loss. Linebacker Jailin Walker was dominant with four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, two pass breakups and three quarterback hits.

2. Aggressive Domination: While Purdue couldn’t move the ball, IU couldn’t be stopped. The Hoosiers amassed 582 total yards, ranking in the top 30. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke broke the program record by going 23-of-31 for 349 yards and six touchdowns. Elijah Sarratt caught eight passes for 165 yards and two scores. IU completed five touchdown drives over seventy yards.

3. INDIANA FOCUSED AND PREPARED: With a 10-1 record compared to Purdue’s 1-10, Indiana could underestimate the Boilermakers. But the Hoosiers were all business and dismantled the Boilers at all stages. record breaking fashion.
