Ranking the Browns’ Offense vs. Ken Dorsey, Jameis Winston and the Ravens

Cleveland BrownsWith a strong offensive performance, they managed to pull off an impressive defeat against their rivals at home. Baltimore Ravens29-24.

Cleveland’s main problems in the 2024 season stem from a dysfunctional offense that has failed to score more than 20 points in a game this season. But there have been a number of changes made this week that look set to spark the offense, with offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey taking over playmaking duties and quarterback Jameis Winston making his debut in place of the injured Deshaun Watson.

It may have taken eight weeks for Cleveland’s offense to finally get over a 20+ point lead, but they appear to have found an identity under Dorsey and Winston.

This was a topic I discussed in my speech. 8th week predictionI thought the completely revamped offense could score over 20 points.

One of the key factors in the Browns gaining a 20-point lead was Winston’s effective play against a solid Baltimore defense. The veteran gunslinger completed 27 of 41 attempts for 344 passing yards and three touchdowns; including a 38-yard touchdown run in the final minutes of the fourth quarter that sealed the deal.

Winston’s impressive throw was the first time this season the Browns had a quarterback throw for over 200 yards in a single game. Moreover, Winston’s performance marked the second time this year that the Browns’ quarterback has thrown multiple touchdown passes in a game.

Cleveland’s pass catchers also thrived under the new regime, with David Njoku and Cedric Tillman finding the end zone. With the departure of veteran winger Amari Cooper and a complete revamp of the offense, Tillman quickly emerged as a key playmaker for the Browns. He finished the day as Cleveland’s leading receiver, with seven catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

Along with Njoku and Tillman, Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy combined for 164 receiving yards on 13 catches. Both receivers reached season highs in receiving yards against the Ravens.

The explosive offense on display in Week 8 clearly regained the confidence of Browns fans. While Cleveland’s odds of making the playoffs are still slim, Sunday’s victory is the kind of win that gives the team hope.
