Shocked locals were seen standing outside their homes. police Sirens continued to sound in the area.

Two plainclothes police officers were seen standing with a young boy wearing gray tracksuits, black sneakers and a navy blue-and-black North Face jacket.

The teenager was then taken to the back of a police van, where he was heard asking for some water.

An Advanced Trauma Team vehicle was also pulled into the street, behind an ambulance.

Police have confirmed that a woman in her 40s was stabbed in the Muswell Hill district at around 8pm last night.

The woman, known locally as Ellie Lyon, works as head of community ministries at nearby St James Church.

The mother, described by colleagues as a “lovely woman”, is recovering from two wounds she suffered in the attack outside her home.

A 23-year-old church youth worker told The Sun: “I’ve been working with Ellie for a few years. She’s such a sweet lady, she’s amazing.

“He would help anyone. He started a youth center project. 30-40 young people are cared for there.

“He’s always smiling, he’s always helping the community. He started a club for kids on Fridays.”

Another colleague added: “Ellie is dedicated to her work and family. “This is terrible.”

Local resident Chester O’Field, 61, said: “Ellie is one of the nicest people. We pray she is okay after what happened.”

Another resident who witnessed the incident said: “I heard shouting and before I knew it the road was filling up with police cars.

“He had been stabbed by a teenager, he had a baby face. The police caught him, handcuffed him and took him away.”

Police officers and paramedics found Ellie with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

A young man, 17 years old, arrested arrived at the scene on suspicion of serious bodily harm.

While detectives were investigating the stabbing incident, the young man was detained where he was staying.

Muswell Hill is home to Alexandra Palace darts venue and was voted one of the most desirable places to live in London in 2020.

Scotland Yard said: “Police were called to St James Lane, Muswell Hill, at 8.04pm on Wednesday to reports of an assault.

“Officers intervened and found a woman in her 40s with stab wounds. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

“A teenage boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He was detained where he was staying.”
