New graphics modes

  • Performance Pro (default for PlayStation 5 Pro)
    • This mode aims for a smooth 60 frames per second while maintaining the image quality of the standard Fidelity mode through the use of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). All ray tracing (RT) features are turned on, including ray traced reflections, ray tracing on water, and ray traced window insets. This mod is recommended for most players.
  • Loyalty Pro
    • This mode targets 30 frames per second for players who want to try out the new ray tracing graphics features. These new features can be individually adjusted to achieve higher intermediate frame rates, especially when using the “VRR” or “120 Hz Display Mode” options. In some areas, pedestrian and traffic density can be increased and fine hair detail can be increased.

New graphic transitions

  • RT Key Light Shadows: Off (Performance) / On (Default Fidelity)
    • Use ray tracing instead of cascading shadow maps to calculate sun shadows at medium and long distances. This improvement is most effective on cityscapes. Only available in “Fidelity Pro” charting mode.
  • RT Reflections and Interiors: Medium (Performance) / High (Default Accuracy)
    • Adjust the quality level for ray-traced reflections and building window interiors. The “Medium” setting sets ray traces at half render resolution and the “High” setting sets ray traces at full render resolution. The “High” setting will also increase the smoothness of animation in reflections and interiors. Only available in “Fidelity Pro” charting mode.
  • RT Ambient Occlusion: Off (Performance) / Medium / High (Default Accuracy)
    • Use ray tracing to calculate additional ambient occlusion lighting information. The “Medium” setting uses this information to increase screen area ambient occlusion. The “High” setting also adds screen space GI bounce for additional ambient lighting information. The visual impact of this feature will vary greatly depending on the scene.
