Air India Pilot Srishti Tuli, who allegedly died by suicide in Mumbai, had a video call with her boyfriend Aditya Pandit before taking drastic action, Mumbai Police sources said on Friday.

25-year-old Tuli was found dead in her apartment in Marol on Monday, November 25. Mumbai Police arrested 27-year-old Pandit on charges of abetting his girlfriend’s suicide.

Stating that police sources were aware of the details revealed in the ongoing investigation, police sources stated that Tuli and Pandit had a heated argument and Pandit decided to go to Delhi even though he was asked to stay with him for a few more days.

After he refused to stay in Mumbai, Tuli allegedly threatened him that she would commit suicide and when Aditya did not pay heed, she made a video call to him to show that she would take a drastic step.

Police Are Looking For Deleted Chats

Police claimed that Pandit deleted some of his chats with Tuli. As the interrogation expanded, he reportedly told the police that he had warned Tuli that he would also die if she committed suicide.

Police are now trying to recover some of the deleted chats between the two and said the suspect’s phone has been sent to forensic experts.

According to police sources, there were approximately 10 meetings between the two before he allegedly killed himself. Several missed calls were also found on Tuli’s phone.

Pandit had claimed that Tuli called him several times while returning home to prevent him from taking any drastic step. He said that when he found Tuli’s house locked, he asked for help from another female pilot and called a locksmith to open the door. The interrogation of the second pilot who intervened in the incident continues.

Tuli’s Family Alleges Murder

The pilot, who spoke to his mother and aunt minutes before his family received the news of his death, allegedly claimed that he had been murdered and came forward, accusing Pandit of harassing, abusing and manipulating him.

“Police say he died by suicide. So what did he do to push her over the edge? He talked cheerfully to his mother and aunt. And 15 minutes later he was dead. How did this happen? What did he say to her? What did he do? The police are investigating this.” Srishti’s uncle Vivek Tuli told NDTV.

The family also alleged that Pandit took money from Tuli and prevented her from eating non-vegetarian food. Further investigation into the matter is on to bring out the truth and provide justice to the victim.
