Many arrests in theft investigation

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Knox County man was arrested and charged with theft.

Police said they responded to a reported burglary at a home on KY-3438 in Girdler. They said jewellery, old coin collections and several firearms were seized.

Police identified 32-year-old Taza Bowling of Cannon as the person involved in the incident. It was reported that the bowling alley was later found with stolen items in a house on the same road.

He was charged with first-degree burglary and taken to the Knox County Detention Center.

Police said they later found some of the stolen jewelry at a pawn shop. Margret Reynolds, 32, of Cannon, was charged with holding him hostage. He was charged with receiving stolen property and taken to the Knox County Detention Center.

Two of the stolen firearms were later reportedly recovered during a drug trafficking arrest in Laurel County.

Police, who searched another house, said they found three people hiding in the outbuilding. An officer found some of the stolen jewelry. Melissa Bowling, 50, of Barbourville, was charged with receiving stolen property (more than $1,000). He was taken to the Knox County Detention Center.

Police are continuing the investigation.
