Haritha’s father Kumar belonged to the upper caste and was against marriage.

On the fateful Christmas evening, Kumar met Aneesh while he was returning home from work along with Haritha’s uncle Suresh. They then launched a brutal attack on Aneesh using an iron rod and a knife. Aneesh’s brother Arun, who was with him at the time, ran away after the attackers directed the aggression at him.

Aneesh suffered multiple injuries and tragically died while being taken to hospital.
