Theft suspect found 4 guns in vehicle stolen from short-term rental in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is in custody and facing multiple charges after being accused of stealing a short-term rental car in an area just north of downtown Nashville.

According to the arrest report, robbery operations detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) located a red Chevrolet Camaro without a license plate in the area of ​​Blank and Jackson Streets on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The Camaro matched the description of a vehicle stolen in a burglary that same day, authorities said.

Detectives said they tracked the vehicle with the help of the MNPD helicopter and the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Antonio Holcomb, was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

An arrest report states the Camaro was stolen from a short-term rental in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue North. In the footage of the incident captured on security cameras, a man wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and green shoes is seen taking the car out of the house. Police said Holcomb was wearing the exact same outfit when he was arrested.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives reported finding a rifle and three handguns inside.

According to the arrest report, the vehicle theft occurred around 6 p.m., and detectives found the Camaro around 9 p.m.

Because of his previous domestic assault conviction, police said Holcomb should not be in possession of a firearm.

Holcomb was charged with burglary, four counts of theft of a firearm, four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, theft of property and evading arrest.

He is being held in Metro Jail on $68,500 bail.
