20-year Siouxland Sleepout impacts organizations helping those experiencing homelessness

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Dozens of people decide to sleep under the stars or enjoy a night at the park, with all funds going towards ending homelessness in Siouxland.

On Friday, November 1, Siouxland Sleepout is hosting its 20th annual fundraiser in Cone Park.

Organizers want participation to be greater than ever for the 20th anniversary.

Participants are encouraged to bring gear to sleep in the elements to temporarily experience the harsh conditions of homelessness.

The event will feature a silent auction, children’s activities, a cooking contest, hot chocolate, a freely donated chili dish and live entertainment.
