Man who stabbed his mother to death and injured his uncle in Houston was arrested

HOUSTON, Texas (KWTX) A Houston man was arrested after stabbing his mother to death and wounding his uncle on Halloween morning.

Felipe Diaz Marin, 39, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the police report, the incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 31 at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Long Point Road.

Houston police officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing and found an elderly man and woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics pronounced the woman dead, but the 73-year-old man was transported to an undisclosed hospital in critical condition, according to the police report.

The identities of the victims have not been released, but the woman was identified as Marin’s mother and the man was identified as his brother and Marin’s uncle, according to KHOU 11.

According to KHOU 11, the victims moved to the scene about a month ago and police were allegedly called to their home multiple times. It is unclear whether Marin lived in the apartment with the victims.

Marin is currently being held in the Harris County Jail on bonds totaling $150,000, according to KHOU 11.
