Police ask prosecutors to consider charging Russell Brand over sexual assault allegations: report

In light of the Sunday Times’ 2023 report highlighting four women Accused Russell Brand of sexual assault, rape and emotional abuseThe Metropolitan Police in London asked the Crown Prosecution Service to consider charging the actor over the allegations.

Detectives investigating the allegations announced that they interviewed “a man in his 40s” regarding the incident on “three separate occasions” on Saturday and presented the evidence file to prosecutors. According to The Guardian.

In the expose, the four women who accused Brand claimed that each incident occurred between 2006 and 2013.

One of the anonymous accusers, identified only as Nadia in the report, claimed she was raped “against the wall” by Brand in her Los Angeles home in 2012, when she was in her thirties.

Nadia reported her injuries to a rape center the next day. According to the press, medical records were able to confirm his claims.

A different accuser claimed she was underage at just 16 when she said Brand attacked her. She said Brand referred to her as “kid” during their relationship.

At the time of their interaction, Brand was 31 years old. She claimed the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star was “emotionally abusive and controlling” during their relationship, which lasted three months while she was working as a BBC presenter.

“I received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media television company, the other from a newspaper, listing a repetition of horrific and offensive attacks,” he said. “Among this repetition of astonishing, quite baroque attacks, there are some very serious allegations that I have absolutely refuted.”

“When I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was being very, very promiscuous,” Brand continued.

“During this period of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual.”
