Burglary suspect shocked as he tried to evade arrest in Jasper

JASPER, Ind. (WFIE) – A 41-year-old Bristow man is accused of burglary and other crimes in Jasper.

Around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to a burglary in the 400 block of W. 14th Street.

According to police, suspect David Porter was found sitting in the driver’s seat of his car parked in front of the house.

Officers said Porter ignored commands to exit the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene.

JPD said officers were forced to use “physical tactics” and a stun gun to remove Porter from his car.

Porter was arrested and sent to the Dubois County Detention Center without bail.

He faces charges of Burglary, Resisting Law Enforcement, Dwelling Entry and Trespassing.
