Revealed: Salman Khan’s Chulbul Pandey cameo in Singham Again and its relevance to Rohit Shetty crime poetry

Actor Salman Khan has officially entered Rohit Shetty’s crime drama with Singham Again. The film’s post-credits scene featured a brief glimpse of the superstar holding hands with Ajay Devgn in Shetty’s Indian cop world. So what does this cameo mean for audiences? How will Rohit Shetty integrate Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey into his crime drama? Here’s a possible explanation.

Salman Khan has joined the crime drama as the flamboyant Chulbul Pandey, one of the most iconic characters on the big screen, who currently serves the Uttar Pradesh police. In all the three Dabangg movies, the character has not met any hero cops from other states so far. This is the first time Chulbul is seen stepping outside his jurisdiction and teaming up with another decorated police officer for a mission.

His quick glance The ending of Singham Again sets the stage for Shetty’s next film, tentatively titled Mission Chulbul Singham. Now, it’s not yet clear how long the film will take to produce. But Singham Again makes a few references to how Shetty might take this bold integration forward.

Spoilers ahead:

As seen in Singham Again, IPS Bajirao Singham has been appointed as the chief of a special team. As the leader of this team, he is tasked with selecting special constables from around the country and bringing them together for a common mission. This is how he manages to bring together Simmba (Ranveer Singh), Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Satya (Tiger Shroff) and form a special team to defeat Danger Lanka alias Zubair (Arjun Kapoor).

In one scene, during a conversation with the Home Minister (played by Ravi Kishan), he is informed that his special team will have its own rules and duties and will report directly to the home ministry. Singham is also told that he is not afraid of the system and its rules.

In the post-credit scene, Salman enters Singham’s cabin and asks him to greet him in his own unique way: ‘Swagat nahi karoge humara? (Won’t you welcome me?)’. Ajay turned and responded with a big smile. While no further information has been revealed about this fantastic pairing, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that Chulbul Pandey will be a member of Singham’s special team of officers fighting terrorism and injustice in the country.

It should be noted that the police verse contains characters from most states and languages in India. While Singham and Simmba represent the Maharashtra belt, Shakti and Satya represent the South. While Sooryavanshi is expected to be from the Rajasthan belt, Chulbul is expected to represent only the UP region in the squad. We should not forget Sidharth Malhotra, who plays a Delhi cop from the director’s web series Indian Police Force.

The idea is to allow each character to bring their own uniqueness to the film, even when their powers are combined on a single mission.
