Fresno man sentenced to 21 years in prison for using hidden camera to produce child pornography

Todd Eric Mumma, 61, of Fresno, was sentenced to 21 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor.

Following her prison sentence, Mumma will be sentenced to 10 years of supervised release, during which time access to minors, computers and the internet will be restricted.

U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert said Mumma was convicted in 2024 of actually sexually exploiting and attempting to sexually exploit a minor by using hidden digital video recording devices in a residence to create sexually explicit images of a minor.

He edited these recordings on a computer and transferred the most explicit images to his mobile phone, where they were stored in a password-protected application and viewed many times.

The search revealed numerous cameras and electronic storage devices containing dozens of pornographic images of children.

Detectives also found hidden cameras placed in the bedrooms and bathrooms of his home.

Mumma was also ordered to register as a sex offender and pay forfeiture money totaling $160,000. He must also pay $71,200 in victim restitution and $55,100 in special assessments.
