NEW YORK (WABC) — The FBI says more than 2,000 threats have been made to election workers nationwide.

There is no major threat to voters or election workers in the Tri-State area.

There will be two NYPD officers at every polling place in New York City.

Officers were instructed to remain vigilant and alert to any election disruptions or violence.

Outside the city, each local county election board coordinates security plans with law enforcement.

New York State Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Commissioner Jackie Bray said voting systems were tested and anti-virus software was installed.

“I’m really confident that we won’t see violence in our elections,” Bray said. “I want New Yorkers to know that if there are any disruptions at polling places, people are ready to respond. We have two operations centers up and running, and we will be monitoring events across the state.”

Officials ask anyone who spots problems to report it to 311 or their local county board of elections.
