ALBANY, Ga. (WALB/Gray News) – A woman in Georgia is in critical condition after being attacked by her neighbor’s dog, according to authorities.

According to a police report, the attack took place on Maryland Drive in Albany around 4:08 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was identified as Elizabeth Warrener. Warrener was reportedly feeding his cats in his backyard at the time of the attack. The neighbor’s dog, reportedly brown and white, attacked him while he was in his backyard.

The dog’s owners were also bitten on Saturday, Albany Police Chief Michael Persley said at a news conference Monday. He also said the dog was a pitbull.

When officers arrived at the scene of the attack, Warrener was taken to the hospital’s emergency room by emergency services. An animal control officer was also notified of the attack.

An officer with the Albany Police Department contacted the victim’s husband, John Warrener, and said he was inside the home at the time of the attack.

He told police that when Elizabeth Warrener entered the house after the attack, her “face was peeled and bitten, her arm was broken and she was bleeding profusely.”

The officer said in his report that he saw a large amount of blood all over the property and saw a brown and white dog in the backyard of a neighbor’s home on Baldwin Drive.
