Advocacy organizations in the UK express solidarity with the Palestine Action group

LONDON

Ten non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Britain expressed solidarity on Tuesday with the Palestine Action group, which is protesting at the factories and offices of global defense technology company Elbit Systems over arms shipments to Israel.

NGOs including Black Lives Matter UK, Just Stop Oil, CAGE International and Free Political Prisoners said in a joint statement that actions taken by Palestine Action cost Elbit Systems tens of millions of British pounds in losses last year. only.

“Any action that disrupts the supply chain of weapons used in the ongoing genocide (in Gaza) is a moral act and worth supporting. Direct action has never been more necessary,” they said.

The statement noted that as Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians intensified, Palestine Action also increased its actions, and that it was “frequently attacked by the Zionist lobby”.

“The documents revealed that Elbit Systems and the Israeli government had made requests to the police, the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service), the Attorney General’s Office and government ministers to crack down on the group and have it banned.”

Reminding that Palestine Action has “16 political prisoners” in the UK to date, 11 of whom have not yet been tried, the NGO said that activists are regularly subjected to dawn raids, police harassment, stops at the airport and smear campaigns.

The statement said, “Despite all obstacles, the Palestine Movement continues to risk its freedom for the liberation of Palestine. We are in full solidarity with the Palestine Movement and call on all conscientious people to support the group.”
