Will Samsung steal Apple’s AI feature? Here’s what you need to know

One UI 7 update based on Android 15: With the launch of iOS 18.1, Apple introduced the notification summary feature, which helps users keep track of developments by summarizing pending notifications. According to a report, Samsung plans to add a similar feature to Galaxy devices with the Android 15-based One UI 7 update.

The report highlights that the South Korean smartphone maker is considering adding a notification summary function that will summarize recent notifications for users. Previously, Google introduced a similar feature where Google Assistant summarizes all notifications.

However, there is no official confirmation from Samsung yet. The report suggests that the feature will be available on flagship devices, but entry and mid-range phones may not get this functionality.

Notably, the feature is currently being tested by beta users of OneUI 7 and is limited to South Korea. In the coming months, Samsung is expected to expand this feature to more users in other parts of the world.

In other related developments, Samsung announced OneUI 7 at its SDC event earlier this year. OneUI 7, expected to be released in 2025, is expected to bring significant changes such as a new look, Circle to Search functionality, improved animations and improved parental controls.

OneUI 7 is also expected to include a new stock icon pack and is expected to be one of Samsung’s smoothest and fastest OS releases. It may also include customizable lock screen functionality that includes artificial intelligence features. While the charging animation is expected to be updated, anti-theft features are also expected to be improved.

Based on Android 15, OneUI 7 will be available on a variety of devices, including Galaxy Z, S, A, M and F series smartphones. Currently, Samsung offers seven years of software updates with its flagship devices, five years of updates with mid-range phones, and two years of updates with affordable devices.
