Assam Government Suspends Five ACS Officers Over Transfer Refusal | Guwahati News

Assam suspends five ACS officers over transfer rejection

Guwahati: Five Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers have been suspended by the state government for refusing to join their new posts in the election department, officials said on Wednesday. According to official notifications, transfer orders were issued in September.
By separate orders issued by the personnel department, the officers (Saroj Kumar Deka, Kabyashree Dihingia, Kongkan Jyoti Saikia, Parishmita Dehingia and Jintu Sarma) were suspended from duty with immediate effect. They were transferred to new locations under separately issued restraining orders but refused to comply with government instructions.
The suspension notice stated that all of them did not comply with the order of the authority, undermined office etiquette and did not act in the public interest. The notifications stated that the chief election officer, Assam, had informed on October 1 that Deka, Sarma, Saikia, Kabyasree Dehingia and Parishmita Dehingia had refused to join their new posts, thereby undermining the etiquette of the office by not complying with the order of the authority. and not acting in the public interest.
They expressed reluctance to join new places while some demanded CEO Assam to remove them from the election department. Among them, there are officers who want to serve in Guwahati and its surroundings. The notice stated that the officers had violated the government instructions which stipulated that all transfer and appointment orders should come into force within one week of receipt of the orders and that representation against transfer orders would be effected only after complying with the government orders.
Deka, deputy commissioner of Parbatjhora in Kokrajhar district, has been transferred to Majuli as an election officer.
