Houston Texans Coach Praises Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff

Houston Texans Coach Praises Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff

The Houston Texans face a tough game against Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions this week.

While Goff was once viewed as the player cast aside in Matthew Stafford’s trade to the Los Angeles Rams, he has emerged as arguably the better player of the two at this stage of their careers.

Goff has developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Texans coach DeMeco Ryans.

“I think Goff is a very good coach,” Ryans said. “He does a great job of protecting the football. He’s not going to give you a lot of opportunities to get the ball. He’s very smart, he makes great decisions with the ball. He’s an explosive attack but what makes him stand out is when the explosive isn’t there, he gets the ball into his own goal so his team can continue to make positive clearance.” So that’s something that stands out about the whole team. They’re going to make you beat them and they’re going to play clean football. “He does a great job, keeping the offense on schedule.”

If the Lions offense is going to play at a high level, the Texans defense needs to step up and match the energy. If they can do that, the Texans may have a chance to get out of trouble.
