The duo who were gang raped at Bopdev Ghat were detained by judicial authorities

Pune: A city court on Friday sent two arrested men to jail for 14 days judge supervision on October 3 Bopdev ghat gangbang case.
Suspects, Chandrakumar Kanaujia Shoaib alias Akhtar Babu Shaikh alias Akhtar Jamal (Zameer) from Undri Lakhpati (20) from Mantarwadi (27) was later sent to Yerawada central jail. In Hande’s report, it was stated that the suspects showed them the places they visited before and after the gang rape of the 21-year-old event management student. Police also seized Kanaujia’s shoes, which he wore on the day of the crime.
The rape survivor, hailing from a city in Gujarat and studying in Pune, and her friend (22), a chartered accounting student from north Maharashtra, went to Bopdev Ghat to spend a night around 11 pm on October 3. Police made their first arrest in the case on October 11 as Kanaujia, a laborer from Kadnagar in Undri, and followed this up with the arrest of Shaikh, a rag picker from Adarshnagar, in Mantarwadi near Phursungi from Prayagraj in a coordinated action. Along with the Uttar Pradesh special task force. Shaikh was stated to be the ringleader of the trio.
