“Download” program aims to reduce sexually explicit photos of children

This week, several police departments in Kentucky are proposing a service to remove nude photos of children from social media platforms.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children offers a free service called take it down. They describe the service as a tool to help you remove or stop online sharing of nude, partially nude or sexually explicit images or videos taken when you are under 18.

Of course, this is not the only resource you can visit. NCMEC provides a full information page that you can view if you believe sexually explicit images of yourself as a minor are available online. It has a team of analysts “dedicated to speeding up the process of removing images and helping to eliminate some of that burden.”
