Hendersonville women accused of stealing thousands of senior citizens

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two 22-year-old women are accused of stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly Hendersonville resident, according to the Hendersonville Police Department.

Police said Thursday that officers responded to a burglar alarm at a residence and found the back door of the home shattered to pieces.

The victim reported $7,000 stolen from the safe inside. Police said security camera footage captured a vehicle near the home during the alleged burglary.

The vehicle was found passing a license plate reader in the area before it was captured on security camera. Police identified the vehicle as belonging to 22-year-old America Pena, who is known to HPD as the caretaker of an elderly resident who had just moved out of the home.

In addition to his role in the burglary, Pena allegedly admitted to committing burglaries before while caring for the elderly resident, according to HPD. A second suspect, 22-year-old Annie Saysombath, was also arrested and allegedly confessed to her involvement.

“Both individuals were charged with Felony Theft, Theft of Property over $1,000, and Vandalism. Pena was also charged with a second count of Theft of Property over $1,000 for the previous incident, HPD stated.
