Maryland, lagos state – One driver was killed and two others suffered varying degrees of injuries when two trucks collided near Cane Village in the Maryland district of Lagos.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said one of the trucks experienced brake failure, lost control and crashed into another truck loading goods.

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, made this known in a statement on Friday, October 25.

According to the leadership, Oke-Osanyintolu said LASTMA activated the response team from its command and control center in Alausa, Ikeja.

“When we arrived at the scene, it was determined that there was an accident involving a concrete mixer truck with plate DGW 208 XA and another truck with plate SMK 906 YE.

“An investigation carried out by the response team revealed that one of the trucks experienced brake failure, lost control and crashed into the JUSTRITE truck, whose driver was loading goods.

“The truck crashed into the building on the side of the road, hitting two people in the process.”

JUSTRITE disclosed that the truck driver died instantly, while two other victims were injured and transported to Gbagada General Hospital.

“Additionally, the response team has activated traffic control measures and is currently involved in managing traffic.”
